Spring
2013: MA 528
Advanced Mathematics for Engineers and Physicists II
Schedule and Homework
assignments
Explain your answers clearly. No credit will be
given for correct answers without explanation.
Staple all loose sheets
of your homework.
For students of the live
class:
Homework will be collected weekly in
class, typically on Wednesdays.
For on- and off- campus
distance learning students:
Homework should be sent in pdf format
by email to the following address:
ma52800.ONChw@math.purdue.edu for the on-campus
distance learning students (ONC section)
ma52800.EPEhw@math.purdue.edu
for
the off-campus distance learning students (EPE and ICN
sections)
The
e-mail should be time-stamped by the due date (by
11:59pm your local time on the due date).
If you need the ability to create pdf files, you might
try PDFCreator.
As indicated in this link, you may not want to use
version 0.9.7 or later. You may get version 0.9.6 here.
I use version 0.9.3 with no complaints. You may browse
all the versions here
by clicking on the PDFCreator tab near the bottom. You
may also want to use MergePDF
if you need to combine multiple pdf files.
Filename: Please name
your homework file in the form LastnameFirstnameHWn,
where n is the homework number. Add Pt1, Pt2, etc if you
really need to send more than one file (but send just
one if possible). So, for the 3rd homework set, I would
submit a file named KaufmannBirgitHW3.pdf
Schedule and Assignments:
All numbers are from the text: Advanced
Engineering Mathematics, 10th edition, Erwin Kreyszig
(Note that we will use the 10th edition. If you have any
other edition (including 'International 10th edition') you
need to be sure that the homework problems you do are the
ones from the US 10th edition.)
Solutions to
selected homework problems and copies of lecture notes are available on Blackboard.
