Diane K. Fasel Alum Profile

In the article about Dean Morrison's Science Advisory Council that appeared in the last issue of PUrview, we inadvertently omitted a math alum who has served on the council for the past five years.

Diane K. Fasel is co-founder and President of the Bellwood Group, a firm dedicated to working with management teams in times of change and uncertainty to build productive and profitable enterprises. She combines proven management experience and demonstrated leadership skills to assist individuals and organizations to link vision and strategy with operational plans and activities, and to improve business results.

Ms. Fasel's career experiences include sales and sales support with IBM, management of worldwide marketing for the Institute for Software Engineering, and general management with Amdahl Corporation. As a consultant, she has worked with clients in both public and private sectors, and in a variety of industries, including education, engineering, finance, government, high tech, health care, manufacturing, and utilities.

Ms. Fasel received a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Statistics from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

We are extremely pleased that Diane has agreed to serve on the newly formed advisory councils of the Mathematics Department and the Statistics Department. Both groups will meet for the first time in early October.
