Student Credit Transfer & Designation

In order to transfer credit from any university outside of Purdue, a student must submit a Transfer Credit Evaluation request through the Office of Credit Evaluation, located in Schleman Hall. Frequently, this Office will simply equate the outside course with the equivalent math course. The student's transcript will show this specific course after the student submits his/her final transcript. Occasionally, the Office of Credit Evaluation is unable to determine the appropriate course or no equivalent course exists at Purdue. Then the Office of Credit Evaluation will assign undistributed (or "UND") credit. This credit can be re-evaluated by the Mathematics Department for use toward a specific course. Within the Mathematics Department various professors are responsible for different courses. They will decide what Purdue mathematics course, if any, the outside course is equivalent to at Purdue.

Online Application:

Upon being told that the Office of Credit Evaluation is unable to determine credit eqivalency (ie, given "undistributed" credit), the student may apply online to the Mathematics Department for Purdue credit. The student must enter the mathematics course for which s/he wishes to obtain credit. Additionally the student will be required to present supporting documentation that shows the preliminary evaluation of undistributed credit and that demonstrates the subject matter and the level of difficulty of the taken course.

I want Purdue credit for a course I've already taken.

Can I get approval for a course that I have not yet taken?
