2011 Ruth and Joel Spira Teaching Awards

Joel Spira, Purdue alumnus and founder of Lutron Electronics, established an endowment in 2007 to provide faculty teaching awards. The Mathematics Department is pleased to announce four Spira awards winners for 2011. This year's awards reflect the fact that the Mathematics Department's teaching is aimed at different groups of students.

  • Donatella Danielli – Graduate Teaching
  • Edray Goins – Mentoring and Undergraduate Teaching
  • Kuan-Hua (Joe) Chen – Elementary Service Teaching
  • Birgit Kaufmann – Advanced Service Teaching
