Text Books: The following
books are recommended for this course: A. Torchinsky, Real
Variables, W. Rudin, Real and Complex Analysis, H.
Royden, Real Analysis and R. Wheeden and A. Zygmund, Measure
and Integral.
This
course is designed to prepare the students for the Ph.D.
qualifying examination in Real Analysis. The course will
have about 7 to 8 homework
assignments, two in class midterm exams and an in class
final exam. The grade will be based
(approximately) 1/3 on homework, 1/3 on exams and 1/3 on
final.
