Help, I can't log in with my Purdue Career Account!

To access many of the online resources offered by Purdue's Department of Mathematics, including the Algebra and Calculus Readiness Tests, you need to know your Purdue Career Account username and password. This username and password represents a centralized account that you will use throughout your career at Purdue. It is important information to know.

There are three primary pieces of information associated with each Career Account. They are: a Purdue University IDentification number (PUID), a Career Account username and a Career Account password.

  • Your puid is a ten digit number (00161-83695) that Purdue uses to uniquely identify you (in place of your SSN). You username precedes the "@purdue.edu" part of your Purdue email address and is what you'll use to login to almost every Purdue computer service. Your password accompanies your username.

For Incoming Students

Upon being accepted at Purdue, you should have received instructions (also available here) outlining how to set up your Career Account.

Although SSINFO, for some reason, allows incoming students to login with their puid, this is NOT your username.

How do I reset my password?

Purdue's central IT organization, ITaP provides multiple methods for resetting a Career Account password:

  • If you are on campus, you can visit an ITaP instructional PC lab, swipe your Purdue ID through the keyboard, and complete the "Account Summary" program. More information is available here:
  • If you are on campus, you can complete a Form #10 available in the ITaP CUstomer Service Center in STEW G68.
  • One can change their Career Account password online through the SecurePurdue website by answering their "challenge questions", if the feature has been previously enabled.
  • Finally, one can call ITaP's Customer Service Center and have an ITaP helpdesk technician change a Career Account password.

My password works some places, but not everywhere!

If your Career Account works on some purdue pages but not others that require a Career Account, you should try changing your password through this IT@P form: https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ChangePassword.
