- Course Description: Linear Algebra With Applications. Real and complex vector spaces; linear transformations; Gram-Schmidt process and projections; least squares; QR and LU factorization; diagonalization, real and complex spectral theorem; Schur triangular form; Jordan canonical form; quadratic forms.
- Textbook: Linear Algebra and its Applications, fourth edition, by Gilbert Strang
- Course Grade: Your couse grade will be determined using the following distributions: homework 100 pts; two midterms 200 pts; final exam 200 pts.

- There will be two midterms and a MULTIPLE CHOICE final exam. The dates and sections covered will be posted here.
- Midterm 1 is (tentatively) scheduled for Friday 29 June covering 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.6, 3.1, 3.2.
- Midterm 2 is (tentatively) scheduled for Friday 20 July covering 3.3 (skip weighted least squares), 3.4, 3.5 (properties of complex numbers), 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 (skip section 3 and 4), 5.1, 5.2, 5.4 (skip second order equations).
- Final exam is scheduled for Wednesday 1 August in WTHR 200 from 10:20 am -- 12:20 pm. Final exam review here. Please skip 15, 23, and 25.
