What should teachers be learning?



Success in teaching depends on the teacher's learning.  That it depends
on the teacher's subject-matter knowledge goes without saying.  The
general topic of the second Brown Bag Seminar is ``What else should teachers
try to learn about?''  For background reading, look at 
The Craft of Teaching.  This 
short article appeared in MAA Focus in 1995.  Bring your reactions
and also your own suggestions as to what teachers should try to learn.
