The 1^st Annual Midwest Actuarial Student Conference at Purdue University on October 19, 2013

 

Hosted by Purdue University and the University of Illinois.

 

The Midwest Actuarial Student Conference is a one day Conference for college students who are studying or interested in Actuarial Science.  The one day Conference will include six presentations of interest to actuarial science students as well as an opportunity to network with your peers. 

 

Presenters will include the MLC Exam Chair for the  Society of Actuaries and the President of the Casualty Actuarial Society.  There will also be a session on Techniques to Exam Prep Techniques and Critique of Exam Prep Materials and a session on Ethics and Etiquette for Actuarial Students.  Click this link to see the entire program and schedule for the day – Conference Schedule.   

 

There is NO COST to attend the Conference.

 

Breakfast and Lunch will be included.  Additionally, there will be an optional dinner for a cost of $15.  Click this link for additional information – Optional Dinner.

 

The Conference has been set up to permit many attendees to arrive in the morning and leave in the evening.  However, if you want to come the night before, the Actuarial Clubs of Purdue and Illinois will host a Bowling Party on Friday, October 18 at 9:00 pm.  The cost to participate in this social function is $7.  Click this link for additional information – Bowling Party.

 

If you are arriving on Friday night, we have reserved a block of hotel rooms for Friday night and Saturday night at a discounted rate at the Holiday Inn and Four Points by Sheraton.  You are responsible for the cost of the hotel room.  You may contact them directly to reserve hotel rooms.  These room blocks will be released on September 18 so make your reservations before September 18.  Tell them that you are with the 1^st Midwest Actuarial Student Conference.  Click this link for additional information – Hotel Information.

 

If you are arriving on Friday night and would like to stay with a member of the Purdue Actuarial Club for no cost, please indicate that on the registration form and we will attempt to accommodate those requests.

Registration will be limited to the first 230 students, so register early.  After 230 students, a waiting list will be created.  Please do not register unless you are attending.  If you register and then are not able to attend, please return to the registration link above and cancel your reservation.

 

If you register, you will receive an email in early October with additional logistical information such as a map of the venue and parking.  We certainly hope that you will attend the Conference.
