  • PROJECT VOTE SMART

PVS, a bipartisan watchdog group whose board includes, among others, former Senator William Proxmire (he of the Golden Fleece Award), has put together an amazingly valuable Web page. It includes links to information on every member of Congress, governor, and candidate for president, including their stands on issues, their responses to the Project's National Political Awareness Test (which is also available), and a sampling of their voting record (not every single vote is recorded at this site, but they get most of the important ones). In addition, when you click on an individual's name, you can find out how he or she is rated by any one of about 40 different special interest groups -- from the NRA to NARAL. This is a gold mine of facts of great value to anyone interested in having an impact on the political process.
