Kevin's Page

My name is Kevin L. Rotz, and I am currently a fourth year graduate student in the Purdue University Department of Mathematics.
Previously I was affiliated with the Penn State University Department of Physics as an undergraduate student and graduated teaching assistant.

Education

Graduate Student Purdue University Dept. of Mathematics, 2009 - present
B.S., high distinction and honors, Physics Penn State University (2008)
B.S., high distinction, Mathematics Penn State University (2008)

Research

My advisor is Dr. Nicola Garofalo. Right now, I am studying properties of generalized versions of Almgren's frequency functions on step 2 Carnot groups.

I was previously a part of the research group of Dr. Paul Sommers at Penn State, who is working with the Pierre Auger Observatory collaboration.

Teaching

Current (Summer 2013)

For the summer, I am on research so I am not teaching.

Math Stuff

Here is a website that I put together with lots of solved problems from James Munkres' topology book, and the majority of qualifier problems from Dr. McClure's quals. Please e-mail me if you'd like the password for legitimate study (i.e. for studying for qualifiers, self-study or any other non-graded things). (Note: This is not for the class I am teaching. If you are one of my students then you probably want this page instead.)

These are just some links that don't necessarily have anything to do with the math department.
