I am Lichen Ni, a fifth-year PhD student at Purdue math department. I have been a PhD student here since July 2007.
My wife Xu Wang is a fourth-year PhD student at Purdue math department, she has been a PhD student here since Aug 2008. Before coming to Purdue, Xu was a Math PhD student in University of Utah at Salt Lake City.
Xu Wang and I were admitted to candidacy for PhD degree in April 2011.
My wife Sue and I were visiting Miami Celebrity Row in Dec. 2009.
My research area is numerical time integration in large-scale structural engineering simulation using high-performance computing.
My advisor is Professor Steven Dong.
This is alpaca, one of my favorite kinds of animals. You can see and touch it at Indiana State Fair in August every year, or you can buy it from some farm for about $10,000 for a nice baby alpaca.
