Math department website
for math 266. You should review the "ground rules" on this website.
Also you can find the computer projects and supplementary problems here.
Grades in the class will be based on the following factors:
Final Exam %40
Midterm 1 %15
Midterm 2 %15
Midterm 3 %15
Homework %15
The final exam will be a common exam for all sections of MA 266. This
class will use +/- grading. There will also be a few "Challenge Problems" for extra credit throughout the
semester.
You will not be allowed to use calculators on any of the
midterms or the final.
Homework will generally be due on Fridays, however you should
always check the due date on the homework page. I
strongly prefer that you turn the homework in in class, but it is due into my
mailbox in Math 419 (or to me in my office if I'm there) by 5:00 pm on
the due date. No late homework will be accepted, however I will not count your lowest
homework score towards your grade.
The textbook for the course is the ninth edition of Boyce-DiPrima's
Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems.
Earlier editions of the book contain essentially the same content, but you are
warned that the homework exercise numbers may be different.
The coordinates for the midterm exams are as follows.
Midterm 1: 9/27, 8:00 - 9:30 pm, WTHR 104.
Midterm 2: 10/28, 8:00 - 9:30 pm, ARMS 1010.
Midterm 3: 12/2, 8:00 - 9:30 pm, WTHR 104.
You can find a practice final exam here. The final will take place Monday 12/13,
3:20 - 5:20pm in LAMB F101.
