Title: A discontinuous finite-element scheme for free boundaries in shallow-water flows Speaker: Djoko Wirosoetisno, Indiana University Time and place: Feb. 27 3:30pm at REC 307 abstract: We present a discontinuous Galerkin finite-element scheme for shallow- water equations. Of particular interest is free boundaries (or front) of the fluid, as in a beach. The location of the front is determined as part of the dynamics, and the element basis function is modified to handle the front dynamics accurately.
