Abstract:
We consider well posedness of the generalized Korteweg-deVries equation in 
classes of analytic functions. Local and global lower bounds on the 
uniform radius of analyticity of a solution are proved. Moreover, it is 
shown how loss of analyticity is connected to blow-up in finite time.
