Title: Simulation of Complex Fluids using Dissipative Particle Dynamics Abstract: Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) is a relatively new mesoscopic method particularly suitable for simulating biopolymers. It is a coarsed grained molecular dynamics method and exhibits both thermal fluctuations but also hydrodynamics behavior. In this presentation, I will review some of the recent advances but also the limitations due to boundary conditions and extreme coarse graining. Examples will be given for DNA dynamics in nanochannels and modeling of red blood cells at the nanometer scale.
