Title: Remarks on multiscale finite element methods

Abstract:
Since 1996 Hou, Wu, Cai, Efendiev, et al. have introduced and analyzed
multiscale finite element methods using multiscale finite element basis
functions.
Recently (in 2006), Z. Chen introduced representation operator to
interpret multiscale finite element basis functions.
In this talk we will make a couple of remarks on recent results on the
multiscale finite element methods in the framework of Z. Chen's
representation operator.
