Model Equations for Water Waves

The talk will be concerned with two related topics that arise
naturally in the theory of water waves. The first topic is the
large-time bahavior of solutions generated by periodic boundary
forcing. This is a model for waves generated in a channel by a
wavemaker.
 
The second issue is connected to an old question of the relation
between unidirectional and bidirectional models. I will present the
theoretical and numerical comparisons between several unidirectional
models and one member of the Bona-Chen-Saut Boussinesq systems.
