My name is Vita Kala. I am from the Czech Republic (from a small village with a long name Doubravice nad Svitavou), but currently I am a third year PhD student of Mathematics at Purdue University in Indiana; my advisor is professor Shahidi. I am a Fulbrighter, a recipient of the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, that covers my PhD studies for 3 years - thus I don't currently teach at Purdue (although I quite enjoy teaching).
I did my undergraduate and Master's studies in math in Prague at Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Department of Algebra.
In November and December 2008 I travelled in India - some photos are here.
And in summer 2007 I spent two months in the Indian part of the Himalayas, in Ladakh. Photos are here.
