My name is Vita Kala. I am from the Czech Republic (from a small village with a long name Doubravice nad Svitavou), but currently I am a fourth year PhD student of Mathematics at Purdue University in Indiana; my advisor is professor Shahidi. I am a Fulbrighter, a recipient of the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, which has covered my PhD studies for 3 years.
I did my undergraduate and Master's studies in math in Prague at Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Department of Algebra.
In the Spring 2013 I am teaching Introductory Analysis I, MA 223. My sections are MWF 1.30 and 2.30, common office hours are in MATH 211, I'm there on Thursdays 2.30 - 4.30.
Before emailing me, please see the webpage for my sections, http://www.math.purdue.edu/~vkala/223/
In November and December 2008 I travelled in India - some photos are here.
And in summer 2007 I spent two months in the Indian part of the Himalayas, in Ladakh. Photos are here.
You can find some photos also at my blog, for example here.
My blog - mostly in Czech (written primarily for my friends and family back home about how life is going in the US), but there's some stuff in English as well.
My old webpage - only in Czech. Some photos from India; information about my past teaching in Prague.
