I play a lot of soccer. I was part of the mathematics department soccer team in Minnesota, The Eagles. Besides intramural soccer I also played in the city league with the Stillwater Team, and during the winter with the Fleet Feet at Woodbury. In Berkeley soccer is somewhat underdeveloped, due to lack of space. At Purdue allocation of space is certainly not a problem and if you are looking for pickup, I can point out some games.

I like to camp, to hike and to bike, and try to do so as much as possible, especially at higher elevations.

At home, I like to read, with (some) favourite authors being Philip Jose Farmer, John Steinbeck, A. Dumas (pere) and Wilhelm Busch. Chaucer, Hugo and Adams (not the politicians) are not so bad either.

I like to listen to music while I do math. Depending on how it goes I prefer Beethoven, Dire Straits, ACDC or Herbert Groenemeyer.
