Office Hours: (tentative) T 2:30-3:30, Wednesday 2pm-3 and by appointment
               (see me after class to make arrangements or for short
                questions). I also try to answer questions by e-mail,
                but turnaround time is sporadic).

Textbook: "Vector Calculus", Marsden and Tromba, Fifth Edition

Other useful books: Any large calculus book! Also Shaum's outline series are good for providing worked examples. Check the reserve desk in the math library.


Homework: Due Tuesday of each week at end of class. Late HW not accepted.
          Problems will be posted on webpage.

Exams: two midterms + final exam. Dates will be announced.

Grading scheme:  100 points per midterm, 150 points for final, 50
                  points for homework, = 400 points.
                  Semester grade assigned on basis of these
                  400 points. No +/- grades.

Expected grade distribution, based on past classes:
                  45% A, 45% B, 10% C or below.
                  This is NOT fixed.

Expected coverage: almost all of chapters 2,3,4,5,6, 7, and 8.
