The photo above, that's me in the lower right corner, was taken
in 1933. It is a photo of the entire 8th grade class at John
Strange School on Indianapolis' north east side. I remember the
names of only three people in the picture.  Lee Whalin is on my
right and Bob Dawson is next to him.  In the middle rear is Mr.
J.B. Hessong, the Principal.  We called him "Jelly Beans."

 At Butler I was busy with studies and working at the Indianapolis 
News.  This Greased Pole Fight at Homecoming, 1947, The Mathematics
Club and the Utes, a sophomore Honorary, were my only frivolities.

In 1958 Jack Forbes and I did a 13 week series on Mathematics on Channel 6, Indianapolis.

The series was entitled It's All In Your Mind. In this episode, we are discussing other number bases.
