  • Final exam review: 12/7, 12/9 in class. The materials after midterm 2 will roughly be half of the exam. The previous ones will be the other half.
  • Test code for Euler's method. Or use the code in the Matlab assignment
  • Midterm 1 solutions; Midterm 2 solutions
  • Midterm 2 review: 11/4 in class. Midterm 2: Sections 7.9, 10.1-10.6. There will be regular classes on the day of the midterms.
  • Midterm 1 review: 9/30 in class. Midterm1 will cover all lectures from the beginning to section 7.8. There will be regular classes on the days of the midterms.

  Two evening midterms and one final will be scheduled. Two classes will be omitted accordingly. No notes, books, or calculators will be allowed during exams.

• Textbook: Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems, by Boyce and DiPrima, 9th Edition, John Wiley and Sons
• Grading: weekly homework (100 points) + 2 midterms (200 points) + Final (200 points).
• Prerequisite: MA 265, MA 266 (covering linear equation and a partial treatment of first order ODEs). Part of the goal of MA 304 is to complete these topics with a minimum overlap.
