Actuarial Science Awards

Greg Childs (BS77), representing Lincoln National Corporation of Fort Wayne, presented awards in Actuarial Science, a joint program of the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics, at the Math Department awards ceremony on April 25. Mr. Childs presented award certificates to this year's Purdue Lincoln Scholars, Gabriel Carrillo and Aaron Lambright, and to this year's Actuarial Achievement awardees, Laura Kisala, Donovan Lemelin, and Amy Schultz. He presented a check to Dean Harry Morrison to fund these awards. On behalf of the alumni, Mr. Childs presented Actuarial Alumni Awards to promising new students Tze Chao Ng, Scott Sheefel, and Sean Schindl.

This spring, also, Aaron Lambright received a State Farm Companies Foundation Exceptional Student Fellowship. These nationally competitive fellowships are awarded to seniors in business-related majors on the basis of academic achievement, leadership, and potential for business success.

Last fall, Liliana Lopez received a Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society Minority Scholarship, an award made to a few promising actuarial students nationally.
