Conferences Set

The Mathematics Department will host the 44th Midwest Partial Differential Equations Conference on March 25-26, 2000. The meeting is being organized by Professors Patricia Bauman, Dan Phillips, and Antonio Sá Barreto.

Professor Fabio Milner is organizing the Second International Conference on "Deterministic and Stochastic Modeling of Biointeraction" to be held at Purdue August 23-27, 2000. Following the first DESTOBIO organized in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1997, the aim of the meeting is to again bring together people from the deterministic and stochastic modeling worlds. Conference topics will include deterministic and stochastic approaches to mathematical modeling in population dynamics, epidemiology, immunology, genetics, neurophysiology, molecular biology, cell biology, pattern formation, bioecology, and computational biomathematics.
