Former mathematics instructor Mary V. Finley, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 14, in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Finley received a bachelor's degree from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota in 1931. She taught mathematics at Purdue from 1954 until her retirement in 1975, when she was designated Instructor Emerita in Mathematics.

Math Alumni Serve on Dean's Advisory Council

In 1994, Dean Harry Morrison established the School of Science Dean's Advisory Council. The Council of 18 is comprised of representatives from industry, government, and academia who have been educated within one of the disciplines represented by the seven departments of the School of Science. Johnny Brown Johnny Brown Selected 1998 Outstanding Teacher

Andrew Lee, president of the Purdue School of Science Student Council, recently announced that junior and senior science students selected the Ten Best Teachers of Undergraduates in the School of Science for 1998. Math Professor Johnny Brown was named 1998 Outstanding Teacher of Undergraduates in the School of Science.
