How to change your Netscape mail preferences.

Thanks to Rodrigo Bañuelos -- both for the info and for the increased level of snazziness.

Rodrigo explains here how to change your Netscape Mail Preferences so that the mail that you keep in your incoming mail box will not get moved to your Netscape Inbox when you click on "Get new messages" in Netscape.

  1. Open Netscape

  2. Select "Preferences" (from the EDIT menu)

  3. From "Mail and Newsgroups" select "Mail Servers" as shown below:

Note: You might have to click on the little triangle to the left of "Mail and Newsgroups" to make the menu pop down.

    [figure 1]

  4. In the window "Incoming Mail Servers" highlight the selection, whatever it might be, as shown in the dialogue box above and select "edit". (If you have nothing there to highlight, i.e, the box is empty, selct "add.")

  5. In the window that appears select "Server Type" and from there choose "POP" (by clicking on the box and highlighting POP) as shown below:

    [figure 2]

  6. From the two choices of "GENERAL" and "POP," select POP and you will get a new window as shown below:

    [figure 3]

  7. Check "Leave messages on server"

  8. Click OK in all the boxes and you are done.
