Testimonios: Stories of Latino and Hispanics in Mathematics

Since the Pre-Columbine era to the 21st century, Mathematics in Latin America has played a key role in the development of certain fields. From the Mayan number system to the Zygmund-Calderón School of Analysis, and modern developments through Mathematics Research Community programs, the main highlight will be the discussion of biographies of Latin American Mathematicians and their contributions to 20th and 21st century mathematics. We will also be presenting a brief history of the pillars of Mathematics in Puerto Rico in recent years.
