Course Description:

This course will describe analysis and partial differential equation aspects on the hydrodynamic equations in complex fluids.

Monday 11-12 noon, or by appointment.

Textbook:

No textbooks. But there are relevant reference articles and books.

Prerequisites:

Some familiarity with linear elliptic and parabolic PDEs, equivalent to MATH 523, is preferable.

Homework:

There will be tentatively three or four homework problems for you to think and attempt, each of which will be given during the middle of a month (with the option to submit at the end of that month if you want it to be reviewed).

Final Presentation:

Each student will be assigned to read a research article, closely related to the topics that will be covered or mentioned in the course, and then report it within a time window of 30 minutes in class presentation. The presentation will be scheduled during the classes in the reading period (the week April 27-May 1).
