Homework assignment and  General rules

Homeworks will be assigned on every Thursday and will be due on the next Thursday . The
hwks assigned on Tuesday will be due on Friday (recitation) and the hwks
assigned on Thursday will be collected on Tuesday. Late homeworks will not be accepted. The assignment mostly
goes with the assignment sheet but there might be few changes which will be
announced in class if there is any. The two homeworks with the lowest score
will be dropped . You are encouraged to visit the instructor if you have any
questions about homeworks.

 Selected problems will be graded.

Please NOTE the correction for Lecture 20: Review of Chapter 3:  problems 2, 10, 12.

Exams :


There will be two midterm exams during the semester and a final (comprehensive) exam at the end of the semester.
The midterm will be given in the class and will take approx. 1hr +.
The exams and quizzes may include partial credit problems.

Midterm 1 is scheduled for  Sep. 29.

Midterm 2 is scheduled for  Nov. 3.

Grading Policy:

The course grade will be based on the following:
Two midterm exams: 2 กม 100 = 200 pts
Final exam: 200 pts
Homework and quizzes: 100 pts
Total 500 pts
