## Final Exam

Time and Place: Tue, Dec 15, 2015, 1:00–3:00pm, in UNIV 101

• Exam is going to be comprehensive, covering all material, see Course Log (it is understood that if a certain topic was not covered in class, it would not be tested on the exam)
• Open book exam: you will be permitted to bring a copy of [B] to the exam. No other books or notes will be allowed (particularly, the copy of [B] that you bring should not contain any notes, but highlights are fine.)
• We will have a review on Fri, Dec 11, in class.
• Use homework problems, textbook problems, practice problems for midterm exams to prepare for the final. Below you can find additional practice problems for sections covered after Midterm 2.

### Final Score

Your final score is going to be calculated by the following scheme:

Scheme I = (1/3)FE + (7/30)ME1+ (7/30)ME2 + (1/5)HW

where FE, MEi, HW are the scores (in %) for Final Exam, Midterm i, Homework. If you scored above the average on each of the Midterm Exams, that is if

ME1 ≥ 40.59 and ME2 ≥ 54.5,

then you will be allowed not to take the final exam and in that case your score will be calculated by the scheme

Scheme II = (3/8)ME1 + (3/8)ME2 + (1/4)HW

Note: If you qualify and decide to opt out from taking the final exam, you have to notify me by email by 5pm on Fri, Dec 11. If you fail to do so, your score will be calculated by Scheme I.
