A little about me

As of Fall 2020, I am an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at Purdue University. Prior to joining Purdue's Mathematics Department, I was an RTG Assistant Adjunct Professor and PPFP Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA from 2017 - 2020.

I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of Iowa under the guidance of Professor Ionut Chifan. My research is in the classification of type II1 factors arising from groups by way of Popa's deformation/rigidity theory.

Previously, I attended Pasadena City College and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I completed my BS and MS in Mathematics in 2012 under the mentorship of Professors John Rock and Robin Wilson.

I also edit and maintain Sorin Popa's W*-News Blog which a deep dive into notable problems in the area of II1 factors and more generally von Neumann algebras.
