Some Useful Software: PARI

You can implement PARI in UNIX by typing "gp". If it is not installed on your system, let me know and I will work on getting it installed. I will also work on getting PARI installed in the LAEB labs and elsewhere on campus. E-mail me any suggestions about where it should be installed. PARI can perform all sorts of interesting number theoretic operations. There is a reasonably nice tutorial in Chapter 6 of the on line manual.

CLINT (Computational Laboratories in Number Theory)

This is a supplemental software package to the text and may be found by ftp at ftp.math.lsa.umich.edu, or by the web http://ftp.math.lsa.umich.edu

A copy of the program (without documentation) is available at ftp.math.purdue.edu in pub/goldberg. The name of the file is tpprgms2.exe, it is in PC compatible format.
