On 2023, together with Rafael Ceja Ayala we orginize Purdue's Graduate Student Analysis. This seminar rise because of the necessity studying topics in analysis, and the desire to learn and share knowledge between enthusiastic students. We meet almost every Thursday at 10:30 in PSYC 2102.
FAQ
- What areas fit on the seminar? We consider: PDE, Optimal Transport, Calculus of Variations, Functional Analysis and applications, Inverse Problems, Geometric Measure Theory, Probability Theory, Analytic Number Theory, Harmonic Analysis, Complex Analysis and Applications, Riemannian and Differential Geometry.
- I think I do not have the prerequisites to undestand the talks, should I participate? Definitely yes. Most of the people do not understand all the things that are mentioned in the seminars. If you understand 40 minutes is good, but if you understand just the first 5 minutes only, is also great. Recall that epsilon is always bigger that zero, in the sense that is better to learn something (does not matter how small it could be), than learning nothing at all. Besides, from the talks you can explore a wide variety of areas, and understand the basic tools and ideas that are used there.
