The conference is meeting in the Student Center Conference Rooms located in the north-west corner of the Student Center. We will be using the Doheny Beach and Emerald Bay meeting rooms. The Student Center is on the corner of W. Peltason Drive and Pereira Drive, on the North side of UC Irvine Campus. Here are some relavent maps:
The parking structure that is closest to the Student Center , where the conference will be held, is the Student Center Parking Structure (Parking Lot SCPS), which is located at C5 of the campus map: UCI Campus Map.
Purchasing a parking permit: Parking is not free! You can purchase a one-day parking permit at the kiosk (if an attendant is present), or at the permit dispenser, both of which are located within the Student Center Parking Structure. The appropriate day permit is the $10 "general" parking permit. It is also possible to park by the hour ($2/hour). Note that parking permits are required seven days a week.
For participants from other UC campuses, the parking sticker for the home campus may be valid at UCI for "general" parking; please don't park at the AR spots. Check in advance with UCI parking (949) 824-7486 if you have a parking permit from other UC campuses.

Irvine is located in Orange County in Southern California. The most convenient airport is the Orange County Airport (John Wayne, code: SNA). Most hotels provide shuttle service to and from this airport. Please contact the hotels to confirm such service. It takes about ten minutes to drive from SNA to the UCI campus. There is also bus, shuttle, taxi and rental car information on the airport's website: http://www.ocair.com/.
Another choice, especially for participants coming from abroad, is the Los Angeles International Airport (code: LAX). It takes about one hour, depending on traffic, to drive from LAX to Irvine. One can take a shuttle from LAX to Irvine. One such shuttle is Blue Sky (Phone: 626-968-2688) which costs about $70 one way. More detailed information about bus service, shuttle, taxi, and rental cars can be found on the LAX website: http://www.lawa.org/welcomelax.aspx.
Note: It is recommended that you plan to rent a car for the time you are attending the conference, or make arrangements to share a car with another participant. While it might be possible to walk from the hotels to the university campus, the region is not particularly pedestrian friendly.
