Science Calculus Credit Exams

The credit exams are not open to students who have received a grade in the course (or an equivalent course), or are currently taking the course (after the first exam). Students with W in a course are permitted to take the credit exam.

Scheduling Exams

The Science Calculus credit exams are challenging and can only be taken once. No student should attempt to to take these exam without adequate preparation. Study guides for these exams can be found below. The student should also try to do the problems from the text book and old exams posted on the courses web sites.

Exams are administered by Testing Center during Day On Campus and for 3 days before the Fall and Spring semesters. See the Office of the Dean of Students Advanced Credit Exam page for more information about these testing dates.

During the first four weeks of the Fall and Spring semesters the Department of Mathematics Undergraduate Office (MATH 242) will schedule these exams. Students who wish to take an exam must make an appointment in the Undergraduate Office (MATH 242). They must bring a Form 231 from their advisor and a photo ID to the exam.

Credit Policy

  • Students must have credit in MA 165 in order to take the MA 166 credit exam.
  • Students must have credit in MA 166 to take the MA 261 exam
  • Students must have credit in MA 261 to take either the MA 265 or MA 266 exam.
  • The MA 266 and MA 265 exams are independent of each other.

Passing grades for MA 165 and MA 166 are 72%. Passing grade for MA 261 is 72%.

Students only have one try to pass a credit exam for a course.
