Eddie Price Portrait

Welcome!

I am Eddie Price, an eighth year Ph.D. student in the Mathematics Department at Purdue. In the past, I have served in the Purdue Graduate Student Government as Senator for the Math Department (2014-2015 and 2015-2016 academic years) and as the Vice President for Internal Affairs (2016-2017 academic year). I also served as one of the Grad Reps for the Math Department in the 2017-2018 academic year. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Benedictine University in 2012.

There are several links on my webpage on the side (left of "Edward Price III").

  • The "Home" link takes you to this page.
  • The "Teaching" link takes you to a page which includes information for the class I am currently teaching and gives a list of courses I have taught in the past.
  • The "Grad Student Info" link takes you to a page which includes information about organizations relevant to the lives of Purdue Math Graduate Students (PGSG, Grad Reps, AWM, etc.).
  • The "Talks" link takes you to a page which lists the titles, locations, dates, and abstracts of mathematical talks that I have given.

Here are two Math Family Photos (the students of Bernd Ulrich), the top one taken at Professor Ulrich's birthday conference in June 2019 and the bottom one taken at the Midwest Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry Conference in May 2016.

When I was taking a commutative algebra class from Professor Heinzer, I wrote up and presented a problem about how a formal power series ring in n variables over a field can be embedded into a formal power series ring in 2 variables over the same field. Per his request, I have uploaded and made available to the public my write-up (click here). Please note that I have not updated this document, so it may contain errors.
