Welcome!

I am Matt Weaver, a seventh year Ph.D. student in the Mathematics Department at Purdue University. I am graduating this summer and will start as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame in the fall.

My research interests are commutative algebra and its applications to algebraic geometry. In particular, I'm interested in the study of Rees algebras and their defining equations. If you'd like to learn more about my work, you can find information regarding my research interests in the "research" tab. You can also find information regarding my recent presentations in the "talks" tab. You can also check out this video briefly describing my research here.
