To obtain the code: There are two options:

  • purchase the textbook and access code from Purdue University or Follett's Bookstores.
  • purchase access code from WebAssign (with or without eBook). (The students can purchase the textbook from any other vendors.) The student has two weeks free trial period of using WebAssign.

Grading Policy:

Your course grade will be determined as follows: 20% from each mid-term exam, 30% from the final exam, 15% from online homeworks and 15% from hand graded homeworks.

Make-up Policy:

There will be no make-up exams (midterm and final) except in extreme circumstances (such as: death in immediate family, military obligation, etc.) at the discretion of the instructor. The instructor has to be informed IN ADVANCE by e-mail. You will be asked to provide proper documentation. There is no drop for the homeworks and no late homeworks. To compensate for that, your HW grade will be scaled by a factor 1.1 (namely, anyone obtaining 91% or above in HW will be scaled to 100%).

Re-grade:

If you disagree with the grading on a homework, you must provide a written explanation, including your reasons for disagreeing, and resubmit the work to TA's mailbox for regrading within one week after the work is first returned to the class.

Tests:

There are two in-class midterm exams and a comprehensive final exam. Calculators, books and notes are not allowed during the exams. Laplace transform table will be provided when it is needed.
