Class

This is the first graduate course in topology. We will cover basics in point-set topology and a brief introduction to algebraic topology (mostly fundamental group and its applications).

• Time: MWF 9:30 - 10:20
• Location: Rec 103
• Textbook: Topology by James R. Munkres, 2nd Edition
• Midterm date: Monday, October 17.
• Final: take-home exam, December 12, 8am - December 13, 8am.
• Grading weights: Homework 40%, midterm 20%, final exam 40%.
