Stephen Mussman, Alumnus, receives NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Alumnus Stephen Mussman has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship for 2016.  Fellows benefit from a three-year annual stipend of $34,000 along with a $12,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees (paid to the institution), opportunities for international research and professional development.

Mussman received his bachelor's degree with honors from Purdue University in 2015 with honors majoring in computer science, mathematics and statistics.  At Purdue he was the 2015 G.A. Ross Award recipient, a University honor granted to each year’s most outstanding senior man decided by a committee of undergraduate peers.

Currently he is a first-year doctorial student at Stanford University in the Computer Science Department with interests in machine learning research.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.

In 2015 he received an honorable mention from the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program.
