Algebra Across Time: a conference in honor of Bill Heinzer

On April 26-27, 2025, the Purdue Mathematics Department hosted Algebra Across Time: a conference in honor of William (Bill) Heinzer. The event was held in honor of mathematics professor Bill Heinzer, who retired this past January. This two day event hosted multiple national and international speakers to discuss algebra's impact over time as a tribute to Heinzer's work.

Heinzer joined Purdue in 1970 and was promoted to full professor in 1973. His research area is commuative algebra. He has published more than 200 papers and has supervised 17 Ph.D. students.

About the Mathematics Department at Purdue University
