11-04-2013
Rodrigo Bañuelos and Alexandre Eremenko are among 50 mathematical scientists from around the world who were named Fellows of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) for 2014, the program's second year.
The Fellows of the AMS designation recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, and utilization of mathematics. The program creates an enlarged class of mathematicians recognized by their peers as distinguished for their contributions to the profession and to honor excellence.
"It is always a pleasure to learn about the work of other mathematicians. Each of us knows many amazing individuals; the Fellows program is a chance to shout it from the rooftops," says AMS President David A. Vogan, Jr.
