Samba Information
Math department faculty and grad students have access to a Math department Linux account and a Math department home directory system. These files can be accessed while logged into a Linux host using SSH and files can be transferred directory to these home directories using SCP or SFTP clients.
Those who use Microsoft networking can mount these directories on PCs using “Samba” and the connection settings below:
Server: smbhost.math.purdue.edu
Username: [your Purdue career account]
Domain: BOILERAD
Password: Your Purdue career account password
Some operating systems might require a URL address for contacting the Samba server. In that case use:
smb://smbhost.math.purdue.eduTo access the directory of your Math department personal web space you will need a slightly different URL for access:
